One of the things about being an app reviewer is the only thing you ever get to talk about are apps. Apps, apps, apps, apps, and more apps! Don’t get me wrong I’m not unhappy about the fact that there are tons of apps to review in the app store, it’s great! However from time to time it would be nice to write up a blog post or do a video about something other than apps! My life has other facets to it that aren’t completely devoted to apps. My job, my side DJ business, my family, and my health. These are all things that don’t always revolve around apps. I would love to talk more about these things but seeing as this is an app review site I’m not sure anyone would give a rats ass about that stuff. It’s just not relevant to the the app review topic. But what if it was?? That’s where the “100 Day iPhone App Weight Loss Challenge” comes in to the picture!
I have decided to kill several birds with one stone by creating a 100 day weightloss challenge for myself using the information I receive from iPhone weight loss apps. I got this idea from watching Lakeisha Shurm’s 100 Day weightloss challenge on YouTube. In that video she decided to go to the gym 100 days straight without missing a day. In the end she lost a bunch of weight and several inches off of her body. It was very inspiring and it gave me an idea. I have decided to use iPhone health and fitness apps for 100 days to help me lose weight. This will give me the ability to talk about something other than apps, it helps me lose weight, and it will still be relevant to the iPhone apps topic since they and myself are the main focus of the challenge.
Here are the rules of this challenge:
I will only track my food, get diet and fitness tips, and track any workouts I do using the health and fitness apps I have selected for this challenge. I won’t use books, magazines, doctors, advisors, counselors, trainers, or any other experts for this challenge. Just apps and only apps!
I will weigh myself at the start of the challenge and make my weight public. I will do weigh-in videos every week to tell youtube subscribers about my progress.
I will do this challenge for 100 days starting today Monday July 6th, 2015. The challenge will end on October 14th 2015.
I will write up blog posts and do videos along the journey if anything new or interesting happens regarding my health or the challenge.
At the end of the challenge I will post results, whether they are good, bad, or indifferent. The goal of this challenge is to lose weight but it’s also to show that the apps I have chosen work as they have been promoted to work. It’s a test of my will power as well as it is a test of the apps that have been chosen.
