The Computex 2012 trade fair in Taiwan has begun, and with it the expected rain of tablets that are running Windows 8. The first is the Acer Iconia Tab W700, one of several presented devices with new software from Microsoft.
The most important element of the Acer Iconia Tab W700 is a 11.6-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Besides it, the tablet specyfication also includes the Intel Ivy Bridge processor, Thunderbolt connector, three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Dolby Home Theater audio system and the price for this device is $ 999. Full technical configuration should be realsed very soon, and with it the approximate date of availability of the tablet in Europe.
Acer Iconia Tab W700 will be sold with an optional keyboard and ‘cradle’ that allows you to correct viewing angles by rotating the device by 70 degrees horizontally.
The first tablet with Windows 8 is going to be interesting, but its price is prohibitive. I sincerely hope that the competition will show a greater understanding of the market and present the device more appealing to customers budget.
