After Mobile World Congress and all the hubbub surrounding the new Galaxy S7 series and the LG G5 died down, Google decided to take wraps off of the next version of Android. Dubbed simply as “N” right now, the next version of Android was launched in a Developer Preview, just like the Android Marshmallow and Android Lollipop before it, albeit a few months earlier than we’d normally expect. A big focus for this year’s release of Android appears to be better tablet capabilities thanks to the system-wide multi-window system, which even has a freeform mode being tested. As such, Google decided to give developers 25% off of the Pixel C in the US, in order to entice more developers to create better tablet experiences. The offer quickly spread to other key markets such as the UK and Australia but, now it’s expanding further into Europe and beyond.
This means that this offer is now available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. New countries listed here include Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland. Users that are looking to get their hands on Google’s latest stab at a tablet can do so by simply entering a Google Account email address, it doesn’t appear as though you have to prove that you’re a developer, after all everyone has to start somewhere, right? Customers should be aware that this 25% will only apply to whatever price their Google Store is charging in their local territory, and it doesn’t include that fancy keyboard, either. It will however, let you choose either the 32GB or 64GB models, which considering there’s no microSD card slot is a nice choice.
Even with the 25% off of the asking price, the Pixel C is a fairly pricey device, but it’s got a lot going for it as we discovered in our review. Regardless of price, the Google Store is – for a lot of countries anyway – the best and one of the only places to get hold of the Pixel C, so this 25% off may as well as be the best reduction you’re going to get. As usual, terms and conditions apply and these include a limit of one per customer at that reduction as well as the expiration of the offer which appears to be July 15th.
