This first half of 2014 has been awesome regarding mobile video gaming, but not for the reasons you would have expected. We haven’t seen 3D über-rendered triple A plus plus plus games – to be aired in Q3 and Q4, starting with Gameloft’s MC5 – but rather have been gifted some shiny and refined jewels instead.
5.- Wind-up Knight 2
The sequel to the acclaimed Wind-up Knight has been more discreet and didn’t raise as much dust. That said, it’s still remarkable for achieving the same degree of perfection as regards gameplay and level design, and at the same time enhancing graphic and visual performance.
Because there will always be room in our hearts for a free Steampunk tactical turn-based game. Perhaps too geared towards eventual in-app purchases, but enjoyable from the very first minute. One of many to come, as you already know that tactical is the new craze in town.
Blizzard carefully planned its landing on mobile shores, and result has been better than many foretold. This is essentially because some critics, grumpy former World of Warcraft players, and skeptic fortune tellers of all sorts griped that once you go take the panda way, it’s all downhill. Anyway, it was one of our most anticipated games for this 2014 and hasn’t disappointed us.
If there has been a groundbreaking and base-shaking game this semester, it’s been Bounden, and we have not one, but ten reasons to back it up. However, be warned: it is not a game for those looking for a mobile game, but a game played through a mobile.
