Of the things that were very popular on any jailbroken iPhone, the 5 Row Customizable keyboard was one. It’s now out for the iPad too which is great news because the keyboard customization is most required here.
The 5-Row Customizable keyboard for iPad is a great way to have a keyboard which you can customize a lot. The usual keyboard options that come along with the default setting are not much.
This cydia tweak works only with iOS 5 and above and so, you will need a jailbroken iPad with iOS 5 or greater. The tweak can be downloaded from the Cydia’s BigBoss repos.
Customize on-screen iPad Keyboard
What’s great about the 5 Row keyboard for the iPad is the versatility. Basically, it merely changes the Russian Keyboard and lets you tweak the settings to change it to any language you want (which are not on the default iOS Keyboard setting).
The reason the 5 Row customizable keyboard is useful is because, many times, one may need only a particular set of keys barring others. Certain layouts require you to have a split keyboard with the specific set of keys so you can perform actions faster.
All this is solved by the 5 Row Customizable Keyboard for iPad, developed by Ganbold.
You can activate the keyboard through:
Settings -> General -> Keyboard
and then selecting International Keyboards to bring up a list of all the available keyboards. Finally, select 5 Row.
You can customize the keys and the layout in the tweak’s settings panel. However, every change is reflected only after you respring your device. For this reason, it is better to have a fully untethered jailbreak on your iPad.
One greater thing about the tweak is that it supports the split keyboard feature built in the iPad, making it even more versatile.
iOS 5 or greater.
