A few hours ago Nokia’s first tablet, the Lumia 2520, went on sale at Verizon. But this apparently won’t be the Finnish company’s last tablet. At the beginning of this month we first heard about its intention to launch an 8-inch offering sometime in the future. At that point we didn’t even know what it would be called once it reached stores, all we had was the codename Illusionist.
Well, the Nokia Illusionist may in fact be the upcoming Lumia 2020. The naming scheme (and the number chosen) makes some sense when you consider that the Lumia 2520 is going to be this model’s bigger brother. The information about the name comes from the infamous anonymous sources often quoted by DigiTimes, so don’t let go of that grain of salt just yet.
Furthermore, these same people have said that the 2020 will be a high-end tablet, and not a cheaper option. Oh, and it should be on the market in the first quarter of next year, so before the end of March. If this is true, then we’re sure to see it showcased either at CES in January or MWC in February.
Obviously though we’re expecting a lot more details about it to leak until then. So stay tuned and we’ll let you know when more info surfaces about the Nokia Lumia 2020.
