There are so many games in the App Store, that it's almost impossible to grasp the amount of hidden gems we're missing out on. If we only focused on the charts, sure we'd know about all the popular apps: but what about all the lovely "indie" offerings we're leaving behind? These unknown gaming beauties might not boast masses of downloads, but they're definitely worth a bash!
Every so often we stumble across an extremely original game or one with stunning graphics, and we realize that it doesn't need to have literally hundreds of thousands of downloads to be a great. But how has it not topped the charts yet?
So, here you have our tribute to nine little known gaming gems that have got us hooked big time.

Bopu stands out from the crowd because of its originality. In this strange puzzle, you've got to guide the dad and his son towards the same destination. It's not always as easy as it seems, as each level has different challenges and a load of obstacles which will make you question your decisions. It comes with some simple but really effective graphics too.
Hellrider is a game of tag with some unbelievably amazing graphics. Not only that; it's a fun and exciting game too! Quickly tap the screen to change direction before it's too late. It's an engaging and unique world that changes every time you play. An absolute must-have!
If you're more into impossible reflex games, Bouncy Bits is here to give you new challenges. It really couldn't be any more simple and difficult at the same time. Avoid the obstacles by jumping on top of them, and take note of just how fast the game gets after a while. Complicated, isn't it? We also love Bouncy Bits because of its colorful block-shaped graphics.
Bring Me Sandwiches is a science fiction game in which we have to feed aliens from outer space. Funny and original, it takes us to a place where where everything can be used to make the best sandwich in the world. At the end of the day, the aliens are really hungry and just don't want to wait.
As you can see, mimimalism is all the rage these days. Squares is another of these simple games that you simply can't believe you didn't invent yourself. This one is about trying to get each box to match with the original square by tapping on the screen and making them turn until they fit perfectly. I'm sure just reading that, you can imagine the frustration.
Did someone say frogs against ninjas? Amazing! I'm in. Green Ninja is a fresh and original game that works like a kind of strange puzzle where gravity doesn't always work. Each level has got a new challenge for us and, yes, we are completely aware that we're addicted to the little frog his world filled with colors and blocks.
Have you got a thing for those impossible mazes? Cyro sets the scene with a spinning pole which you have to try to stop from hitting the walls. Challenging and frustrating at the same time. And as you can imagine, completely addictive too.
Down The Mountain is, obviously, one of our favorites. This is a really unique game with some awesome graphics where each block does something different. Your aim is to get down the mountain, which isn't an easy feat, when nearly all the blocks are dangerous. Do you think you can do it?
Lines The Game is a relaxing game that has got various levels so that you can spend the afternoon renewing your knowledge of physics. You've got to make the longest line possible by choosing the starting point and trying to beat the other players (the computer). It's got a neat and tidy design with some outstanding effects too.
