Acer might not be the type of company that many think of when it comes to Android smartphones, but they’ve been releasing more and more models in order to make a name for themselves. How Acer is doing that is to release devices targeted towards the budget market, while still delivering a quality experience. To that end, Acer is launching two new devices in India, the Liquid Jade and the Liquid E700. These are devices that have been announced previously this year, but they’re now releasing them in India, for a fairly reasonable price.
Starting with the Liquid E700, pictured above, this is a 5-inch device with a 720p display resolution and it’s powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 clocked at 1.3 Ghz, backed up with 2GB of RAM and fueled by a 3,500 mAh battery. There’s 16GB of expandable memory and there’s an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera to boot. Running Android 4.4 KitKat, along with some interesting software choices from Acer, the Liquid Jade is just 9.9mm thick and it’ll be available for RS 11,999 ($195) exclusively from Snapdeal. What makes the Liquid E700 a little more special is that it has Triple-SIM support, which is pretty unique for a name brand smartphone.
The slightly more expensive Liquid Jade is similarly specced, yet not quite as powerful as the Liquid E700. The Liquid Jade has the same quad-core CPU as the Liquid E700 but has just 1GB of RAM and features 8GB of expandable storage. Where it differs is with its 13-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of 1080p recording. Otherwise, this is simply a more stylish E700, with the same 5-inch 720p display and Android 4.4 KitKat along with the usual Acer throw-ins like DTS sound and their software touches. The Liquid Jade comes in at RS 16,999 ($275) and like the Liquid E700 will be available from Snapdeal exclusively. Let us know in the comments if you’re eyeing up one of these new Acer devices.
