The Liquid E3 that Acer announced back in February is now up for grabs in the UK, though it’s apparently an exclusive to Three. It’s unclear how long this situation will last, but it is what it is for now.
So if you want an affordable handset that packs some decent specs, don’t mind it being made by Acer, and don’t mind having Three as your operator of choice, here’s what you need to know.
You can get the Acer Liquid E3 for free if you choose a two-year contract that costs at least £18 per month. That amount nets you 300 minutes, unlimited texts, and 1 GB of data each month. There are many other options, though. The most expensive is a £30 per month plan that basically gives you unlimited everything (including data).
The Acer Liquid E3 has a 4.7-inch 720p HD touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, and it too runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Its dimensions are 138x69x8.9 mm, and it weighs 135 grams.
The version of Android used is definitely unfortunate (and also ancient), but Acer has promised an update to Android 4.4 KitKat for this year (though hasn’t said anything less vague).
If you want to pick one of these up from Three, this is where you need to go.
