An unannounced phablet called the Acer Liquid S2 appears in a leaked roadmap for the Russian market. Along with the device, several other Acer devices are mentioned. These are the Acer Liquid S1, Acer Liquid Z3, and Acer Liquid C1.
Acer Liquid S2
Purportedly, the device sports a 5.98-inch full HD IPS display, 16GB of internal storage space, and 2GB of RAM. It runs on a 2.3GHz processor and comes with support for Near Field Communication. Interestingly, it also says that the smartphone will arrive with K OS. These initials potentially refer to Android 5.0, the next version of Android following Jelly Bean, rumored to be called Key Lime Pie. Such phablet is scheduled to be released this month. The document says that the device would be sold for 25990 RRP, which would be around 600 euros or almost US $800.
At this point, it is still doubtful whether the device would be launched with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie this month. Google itself is not expected to release the next version of Android OS until around October. Thus, if Acer does launch the Acer Liquid S2 this August, it may not have Android 5.0. On the other hand, the launch date may not be accurate, and Acer may launch the device further into the future.
Acer Liquid S1
The same roadmap also shows the Acer Liquid S1. This is said to be Acer’s first foray into the growing phablet niche. The company has already unveiled during the Computex event in Taiwan last June. Said unveiling already revealed the key specifications of the Acer Liquid S1. These include a 5.7-inch display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 1.5GHz processor, 8GB of internal storage space and 1 GB of RAM. Such information does not contradict those that are found on the leaked roadmap.
Acer Liquid Z3
The recently-unveiled Acer Liquid Z3 is likewise in the leaked roadmap. The smartphone, as per the document, features a 1.2GHz processor, a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 4GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.2. Consistent with the document, this device was launched this month.
Acer Liquid C1
The last device in the roadmap is the Acer Liquid C1. This is a device with a 1.2GHz processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, 8GB of internal storage, and Android 4.2.
