A press release for Adobe’s Photoshop Fix app, demonstrated on the iPad Pro at Wednesday’s Apple event, indicates the A9X chip in the iPad Pro has a healthy 4GB of RAM installed, double that of the iPad Air 2!
iPad Pro is great for creative workflows with a high res 12.9″ touch screen display at 2732 x 2048 pixels, A9X chip, and 4GB RAM …
Apple is known to be conservative where RAM for its devices is concerned. The iPhone 6 has a measly 1GB of RAM, although the iPad Air 2 does have 2GB, as does the new Apple TV, also announced yesterday. (Some reports indicate the iPhone 6s has 2GB installed, but we haven’t seen any official confirmation as yet.)
If there is indeed 4GB of RAM in the iPad Pro, this indicates Apple is serious about their new large tablet’s multitasking and content creation abilities. However, it is possible that the 4GB RAM mention in the Photoshop Fix release is a typo, we’ll keep an ear out for additional confirmation and let you know if we hear anything else..
