In the last couple of weeks, we had seen few hazardous consequences of Xiaomi devices. As we had earlier reported, the Xiaomi Mi 4i was caught on fire while the device is charging. The incident came into limelight when the consumer uploaded the CCTV footage on Facebook. The brand had replaced the device, but the actual cause of this incident is not yet known.
Now a Xioami user from Poland has posted on a Reddit-like Polish forum that his Xiaomi Mi 4C was burnt and melted. He also mentioned that device is not charging while this incident took place. The device was lying next to his head while he was sleeping on his bed at night and suddenly it began to fly sparks and smoke. From the images, we can see the device has the transparent back cover on it.
While this is not a minor accident, the company should have a look at the quality of their devices. We have already seen a Xiaomi Mi 5battery blast in China and in another incident, a Mi Band 2 caused burns on the wrist of a Chinese lady. The Polish user also mentioned that he wrote an email to Chinese reseller, and they had asked to return the device to China.
In a reply to his email, Xiaomi Europe, said,

As the device was brought through Aliexpress is authorized by the Xiaomi, the company might take up this incident, but what happens when the same happens in India or China. He is also using the built-in battery and original charger provided within the package. We will update the article once there is more information from the user or the company.
Note: We don’t recommend users to purchase devices from unauthorized stores or the Chinse resellers who sell on their own websites. Few reports also hint that the smartphones from Chinese resellers come with pre-installed malware. The users will not receive the warranty, and even the brands won’t be looking into incidents as happened above. Also use the original batteries and chargers that are compatible with the device as there are high capacity chargers that might be overpowered for few smartphones.
