Essential iOS app 1Password has just made the jump to version 5.2, adding a number of nice new features to the already powerful online security suite.
Easily the biggest addition is the new login creator. The feature gives users a quick and easy way to enter their information from a large number of popular sites and other services.
Pro users can now also create one-time passwords with a new tool. It can be used for services that require a secondary and random password like Amazon and Tumblr. Those users can also delete attachments from the item editor and add a number of new custom field types like addresses, dates, and month/year.
Along with some other changes to the apps design, the 1Password Extension for third-party apps will now lock automatically after a preset security timeout. That makes that wonderful feature for iOS 8 users even more secure.
With a $9.99 in-app purchase, users can unlock the Pro feature set which includes a number of additional features like multiple and shared vaults, additional categories to select from, and the ability to use tags to organize data.
The OS X version has also been updated to version 5.1, adding a number of new features. It can be downloaded now from the Mac App Store for $49.99.
Weve been huge fans of 1Password here at AppAdvice for quite a while. If youre a Mac and iOS user, its easily the best way to add a layer of strong security to your online life. It is highly recommended.
