Over the past few years, Samsung has typically released a few colors of their flagship smartphones. Then a few months later they’ll release a few new colors. That happened again this year with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The company debuted a pink color for the smartphone not long ago, which some people may really like. It’s been sold in South Korea – Samsung’s home country – and a few other markets already. However it now is available on Amazon here in the US, unofficially of course. It’ll set you back about $750 as well, this is an unlocked model, so it will work on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US – this also means LTE on both networks. But no luck for those on Sprint or Verizon, unfortunately.
Specs for this Galaxy S7 Edge are about what you would expect. Looking at a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution Super AMOLED display, powered by the Exynos 8890 (not a Snapdragon 820, since this isn’t made for the US market), with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage inside. There’s also that amazing 12-megapixel camera around back, with the 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. Basically, it’s the same Galaxy S7 Edge that has been available in the US since around March. The only main difference here is the color, the bands it supports and the processor.
The Galaxy S7 Edge is said to be one of the best smartphones of 2016, and 2016 is half over already. One of the others is said to be the Galaxy S7, which is slightly smaller and has a flat display as opposed to a curved one. Samsung is running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow here on the Galaxy S7 Edge. Although they have not made any announcements about when they will be rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat. That’s not a big surprise, given the fact that Android 7.0 Nougat isn’t actually available just yet – it should be hitting Nexus devices in the next month or two, though.
You can pick up the “Pink Gold” Galaxy S7 Edge from Amazon, however keep in mind that this is not Amazon Prime eligible, and there are only a few left, at the time of writing this. Meaning, that you may be waiting a little bit before your Pink Gold Galaxy S7 Edge is actually shipped to you.
