Samsung unveiled its largest Galaxy variant, the Galaxy Mega 6.3, back in April, 2013, and two months later the device was available to purchase in the United Kingdom from several independent retailers for £449. However, if you haven’t had the opportunity or the wherewithal to pick one up before now, it might be of interest for you to know that Amazon U.K. is now offering the phablet for £299.99.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a relatively impressive mid-to-high range smartphone, which packs a 6.3-inch SC-LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset powered by two 1.7GHz CPU’s, an Adreno 305 GPU, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with an independant LED flash, 1.5GH of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD) and a beefy 3,200 mAh Li-Ion removable battery.
In addition, the handset ships running the latest build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz user interface, which Samsung claims is the “easier way to use your device, giving you intuitive control over everyday tasks.” However, it’s expected to receive the much-anticipated Android 4.3 update in the not-too-distant future, which also brings support for the Galaxy Gear and Samsung KNOX.
