BEIJING, China – Nokia X, the first Android-based phone from the Finish producer, has scored millions of sales after becoming available for pre-order.
Nokia claimed on its official Weibo account that the company has managed to book over a million orders for Nokia X, to everyone’s surprise.
The Chinese market is very important to mobile phone producers for the fact that it holds the highest number of smartphone users in the world. This is among the top of the reasons that companies such as Apple, Samsung and LG have been trying ever since to win over the market. Now the entry of Nokia X increases competition given that Android is a popular operating system.
The Nokia X will be released on 25th of March in China. Originally revealed during MWC 2014 last month, it features a 4-inch IPS LCD, a 1GHz dual-core S4 processor, a 3.15MP camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB on-board storage, a microSD slot and a 1500mAh battery.
