Sometimes it can be difficult trying to remain objective here at the home of all things Android. Whilst we’re expected to have a certain amount of bias when talking about the most popular OS in the world, sometimes it’s hard not to give into our enthusiasm, come on too strongly and deliver what some might perceive as bordering on bombast or, indeed, thunderous rhetoric. But then it’s difficult not to when you consider what we have to work with.
I mean, just take a look at the latest Android info from Kantar WorldPanel ComTech this week…
The research released from the expert analysts yesterday has shown more massive market share gains for Android in the 12 weeks to mid-April within most of the seven major markets, including the US and Australia. But it’s in Europe where the most ground has been gained, with figures for Spain and Italy doubling to 72% and 49%, respectively, and share in Germany rocketing to 62%, seeing all three join the likes of the UK, Oz, India, China and the US before them in electing Android to lead the way.
So there it is, more giant-killing absolute awesomeness from the open-source, app-aplenty über OS that is Android. Ah, I’ve done it again, haven’t I?
