Google are to close the Android Market help forums following a number of high profile complaints registered on them by developers. Rather than resolving their problems in public, app makers are now requested to email their difficulties to Google instead.
Hopefully this will illicit a quicker response from the Android creators than those grievances of past, the most embarrassing of which related to a large disparity between apps sold on the Android Market and payment from Google to developers. The other possible conclusion to be drawn here is Google no longer wants to wash its dirty laundry in public.
Writing on the Android Market forums, Google employee HeidiLC stated, “Because of the nature of developer issues, we feel that one-on-one support is best for the types of threads that have historically been posted to this forum by app developers.”
