What are they thinking?! James Rolfe, aka the Angry Video Game Nerd, is still doing his schitck years after rising to fame as one of the first self-built Internet celebrities. He’s made a movie based off of his popular character, but the real joyous side-project comes from FreakZone Games. The indie studio developed the torturous Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures, a side-scroller designed to replicate the indiscriminate challenge of the terrible old games Rolfe plays on his show.
Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures was a hit on PC in 2013, and the developers promised to bring it to the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, paying tribute to Rolfe’s roots in Nintendo. However, the ports went silent for two years until just yesterday when FreakZone Games announced that the port would be released on April 2 for the Wii U.
FreakZone Games also confirmed that the Nintendo 3DS version is still in the works, and it is even looking into a cross-buy discount for those who buy both versions of the game.
Good, because I’d rather have a rhinoceros take a massive… no I’ll stop there… than pay for the game twice.
