There are so many games in the App Store that it’s tough for developers to stand out, and it’s tough for iOS owners to find time to play many. The result is that you can get some great deals with deluxe games going on sale for free. Case and point, Autumn Dynasty has just been re-released for free as publishing rights have expired. The game originally launched back in May of 2012 under BulkyPix, but now the original developers, Touch Dimensions, have released the game under their own name completely for free. The move allows the original owners of the game to get it for free, and it helps build up buzz for the release of the sequel Autumn Dynasty:Warlord, which is launching next week.
This is quite the offering for free as Autumn Dynasty provides a deluxe real time strategy experience that is designed for anyone to enjoy. The game takes place in the Chinese Empire, and there’s a stylized visual design to fit in with brushstroke art, and ancient maps. The interface is the main highlight of the game as you simply draw your directions to lead your units. You can draw a circle around a few units to control them together, and then just drag the path to send them into battle, surround your enemy, and position specialized unit types. The real time aspect can’t be understated because there’s so much going on at once to adapt to, from building up your fort, protecting your fort, and directing the action on the battlefield. There’s an extensive single player with tons of levels, and ten landscapes, as well as an online multiplayer component.
Autumn Dynasty (Free, Universal) is a must have for free as there’s silky smooth controls, beautiful design, and thoroughly engaging strategic action.
