The brick breaker genre has possibly seen more variations than any other genre since the original Breakout. There have been numerous iOS versions as well, but there’s always room for another one, if it offers an interesting twist. Breakfinity is a new brick breaker that comes from the maker of Galcon, and focuses on intense arcade action. The twist is that rather than a level based set-up, it’s an endless assortment of bricks to break. The game focuses on quick action where there are multiple quick waves of just a few blocks sequences.
The biggest difference with Breakfinity is in the way you play, since you’re not as focused on clearing every single brick on screen. The reason is that you’re always battling forward, and as soon as your ball clears a whole in the brick layout, it can then pass through to the next sequences. The bricks rain down as you go, so you want to advance as quickly as you can, but you also want to maximize points. You only score for the bricks that you clear, but you could get through some levels after destroying just a few bricks. A little strategy comes into play since each time you reach a new wave the speed increases, so you want to maximize points on the earlier levels, because the game can get overwhelming quite quickly. Every five levels, the visual style switches up, and there is one special brick per wave, and those special bricks can be used to continue your runs to infinity.
Brickfinity (Free, Universal) offers intense arcade action that delivers tons of challenge that is set-up for quick on the go, one hand gameplay.
