Incredimail has been one of our favorite iPad mail apps as it transforms the inbox into a news reader for the layout of e-mails. It’s a more personal, and lively approach to the inbox by highlighting images, contacts, and quick peeks of e-mail messages from the inbox. Incredimail has been iPad only up until this point, but it was rebranded as Molto, and was updated to version 2.0 to be a universal app. Now, there’s a brand new iPhone version that maintains the redesigned inbox approach, but made for the smaller screen.
Molto on the iPhone offers a single list that has the same elements of the iPad version including a news reader overview that is highlighted by images, and contact icons. The iPhone version also offers a single pinch to go from the detailed preview mode to a quick scan list. Molto also includes subtle swipe gestures similar to Mailbox, and supports smart filters to sort messages. The entire app is reminiscent of the Zite news reader, just made for e-mail, with a similar interface on both iPhone, and iPad. Both versions maintain native push notifications for a unified inbox that supports Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo!, Outlook, Aol, POP3, and IMAP mail servers.
Molto (Free, Universal) reinvents the inbox to highlight the content of your inbox like no other e-mail app, and now is a free universal iOS utility.
