Not every app has to be the most complex to be a worthwhile download. Case and point, Keezy, which is a music making app that allows you to create tunes with anything at your disposal. The app essentially provides an eight key soundboard, and you can use your iPhone microphone to record any sound you can think of for those eight keys. Whether it’s different notes of your voice, simple grunts & coughs, water splashes, music clips, phrases, a musical instrument, or again anything. Once you have the keys set-up, you just tap on them in whatever order you please to start crafting a beat.
It’s a relatively simple concept that is executed well, and provides the tools for a great potential of creativity. Keezy is similar to MadPad, but without the video bits letting you focus on making sounds that go together. There’s a colorful interface to denote each key, and you simply tap and hold on any individual key to record. You can also swipe up, to either delete a note to replace it, or undo your last action. It’s simple fun that doesn’t include audio recording, sharing, or anything to save a session. Instead, it’s a musical toy that takes advantage of the iPhone capabilities to have fun in the moment.
Keezy (Free, iPhone) is a simple creative outlet that has tons of potential, while being super easy to use. Your iPhone with Keezy can be an instrument capable of producing any sound that you can record.
