FreeThere are some deluxe apps in the App Store, and then there are some very straightforward and simple apps. Postr falls into the latter category, and just because an app is simple, doesn’t mean it can’t be valuable. Back in 2012, Apple released iOS 6, and with it came Notification Center with a new share widget. Apple removed it in subsequent versions of iOS, but the value of the sharing widget hasn’t diminished.
Postr is essentially the share widget, as the app opens full screen with a spilt screen view of Facebook and Twitter. You simply tap the left side of the screen to post to Facebook, and the right side of the screen to post to Twitter. That is essentially all there is too it, but the pure minimalism with the ability to tap anywhere on either half of the screen offers a nice valuable function. The Twitter side of things also lets you access the camera as well as the camera roll to post photos. The app includes a widget for Notification Center to bring back that old iOS 6 functionality, and it also ties into anything copied to the clipboard.
Postr (Free, Universal) offers a simple focus in a clean package that is worth picking up for quick social sharing.
