FreePhotos can take up a big chunk of space on your iOS device, but not all are worth keeping. Screenshots* can be valuable in the moment, but there’s usually little reason to keep them long term to take up storage space on your device. Not everyone takes screenshots, but those that do end up taking a lot. Each one of our reviews contains multiple screenshots that end up taking up quite a bit of space, and it can be tedious to delete each one individually as screenshots are mixed through all other photos. Screeny is an app designed to help you remove just screenshots with only a couple of taps.
As soon as you launch Screeny you can tap to start scanning your camera roll for all screenshots. After scanning is complete, you can choose to delete all screenshots, or choose to delete just the screenshots older than 15 or 30 days. The app trashes screenshots based on your choices, and that’s really all that it does. You can set up reminders to clear out screenshots every 30 days, but don’t expect too much else. There’s an obvious niche appeal of Screeny to those that actually take screenshots, but what it does, it does extremely well. There’s a streamlined UI to make it easy to pick which screenshots you want to delete, and it’s so much easier than going through all of the thumbnails in your camera roll, and selecting each screenshot individually.
Screeny ($0.99 -> Free, Universal) delivers a valuable utility that is well worth picking up if you ever take screenshots on your iOS device. The app is free for a limited time.
*In case you were wondering, you can take screenshots by press the power button and the home button at the same time.
