Despite the undeniable evidence that I write for a mobile OS site and I often pepper my on-screen scribblings with Sci-Fi references pointing to the fact that I am, in all reality, an utter geek, I’ve always thought of myself as being something of a rebel. For instance not only will I often go out with wet hair REGARDLESS of weather conditions, I quite often add the milk AFTER I’ve poured the tea, and I always keep ALL my eggs in one basket. Yeah, take that! Especially the last one… but only when it comes to social media… ahem.
Which is why today we celebrate the arrival on Android of Pulse News – an app that amasses all your online ova in one big virtual basket, rendering the former effort of opening all your apps individually easy.
Making its way over from iOS, Pulse News combines feeds from the likes of Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram and Flickr, allows you to add in all your favourite news and what-have-we websites, and then have them all displayed before you in an array of easy access tiles, transforming your screen into a veritable bathroom wall of fingertip tapping information.
And once you have tapped an app you can choose to see either the original page or a cleaned up version of the matter in hand, and read it there and then, save it to Evernote to exercise your eyes on later, or share instantly via that aforementioned social media malarkey.
Available for download from Google Play even as you read these very words, join me in my defiance of convention and go and congregate all your app embryos in one container now! What am I rebelling against? What have you got?
