To be honest, I’m not a big fan of tower defense games, especially the military/warfare types. So, I was having a hard time appreciating Defense Zone HD for iPad at first. I also found the game quite challenging, but that’s just me; you might be a better player when it comes to tower defense strategy. If so, Defense Zone HD is definitely your thing.
What is it?
As mentioned, Defense Zone HD is a tower defense game. In fact, it’s a straight-forward, no frills tower defense game. But let me just add what I mentioned awhile ago—it’s a difficult game to beat, even with the recent difficulty adjustment update. The game’s major objective is for you to successfully build turrets that will prevent your enemies—which include soldiers, aircraft and tanks—from crossing into your side of the fence.
How does it work?
At the start of the game, you’ll have at your disposal a couple of turrets. As you progress, you’ll be able to unlock some more turrets—there are six of them, which vary from slow units to better ones. Additionally, these turrets will have different characteristics, including firing speed, blast radius, and firing range. To successfully conquer the game, you must learn to place your weapons at the right location. Yes, the location of your turrets is vital to your success in this game.
Not only will the game challenge your patience, but your wits and decision making skills, as well. The key to winning the game is by way of playing it smart, which includes determining the best combination of weapons to defend your territory against enemies.
Is it contagious?
I can attest to the difficulty of Defense Zone HD, but that only leads to greater satisfaction when you beat it.
But is that enough to make you purchase the game? Still a tough decision to make? The good news is that there’s a free, lite version, so you might want to try that out first.
