Once again something new for the Apple fans! Although Apple has maintained secrecy about its Thursday education event to be held on Thursday, January 19, in New York City, it is reported that the company is about to unveil textbooks in partnerships with publishers like Pearson, McGraw-Hill and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt optimized for the iPad and featuring ways to interact with the students.
Apple had it in mind years ago to bring out an iPad that would change the classroom experience. Founder Steve Jobs revealed his wish to get the writers to create digital versions of textbooks and making them a feature of the iPad.
Education needs to be made interesting enough and what would be better to do so than interactive iPad-optimized textbooks that would create an interest as well as an excitement in the learning process, not just for the students but for teachers too.
An iPad sounds more expensive than a textbook. So let’s see whether Apple has thought about that and made an agreement with the publishers to work out on an affordable price.
