An unnamed “inside source” at Apple claims that the company will introduce the next generation iPhone and iPad at a special event on June 29th, which is exactly 6 years after the original iPhone was announced. The tipster claims the event will be titled “Original Passion, New Ideas” to highlight that the “iPhone 5S” and “iPad 5″ will both be the first new products with no input from the company’s previous CEO and co-founder, Steve Jobs.
If this report turns out true, then the announcement will take place on a Sunday. We usually get new Apple products on Tuesdays, and during the past few years also closer to the holiday buying season. The only reason why Apple could pull off June 29th is to actually use it to celebrate the original iPhone. We’ll just have to wait and see.
