Apple’s support forum is flooding with complaints about iPhones running iOS 7 having random Home Screen crashes that are fixed with an automatic reboot. Luckily, Apple has now acknowledged this and has promised to deliver a fix.
“We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash,” said Apple today in a statement. As to when this will happen is unknown. A safe bet would be to deliver it with iOS 7.1 which is currently expected to arrive in March.
Here’s a complaint from one of the countless threads of this sort:
Are any of you aware of iOS 7 randomly shutting down iPhones? Ever since I upgraded 2 day ago it has shut down at least 3 times. The battery was at about 18%, 20%, and 36% when it shut down. I don’t believe it’s a bug with the battery percentage because it started back up as soon as hit the power button.
