This morning, Apple sent out invites to their first event of 2015. The invites come with the tagline “Spring Forward”, which presumably relates to the Apple Watch. We get a first glimpse of the Apple Watch last September, and since then Tim Cook has revealed that it will start shipping in April. The March 9th event will likely flesh out the details of the Apple Watch in terms of pricing for the various models, battery life, more specific use cases, app demos, and more.
The timing is interesting as March 9th is the day after the start of Daylight Saving Time in the US. Apple is putting a major emphasis on their Watch for 2015, and what better way then to announce it around a time based event. Not only that, but the Apple Watch is about fitness, and it makes sense to have the watch launch in the Spring when more people are out, and being active after the cold winter months. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and begin at 10 AM Pacific, as first reported by The Loop. The Apple Watch will be the highlight, but Apple may reveal a refreshed MacBook Air, iPad Pro, or new Apple TV, though unlikely.
Apple also announced, that they will be streaming the event live on their website for anyone to tune in, and watch the reveal of the official details of the Apple Watch.
