Apple faces a tough competition from Android in the tablet field especially the Amazon Kindle Fire. However, iPad remains the undisputed leader of the tablet market and according to recent reports. iPad is to dominate tablet market through 2016.
A report from Forrester Research claims that the tablet market will see significant growth in the coming years and of course continue to be dominated by Apple’s iPad.
The tablet sales are reported to rise to 375 million units all over the world and amount to 760 million along with user base. The data by Forrester corresponds to another one by Gartner according to which the tablet sales around the globe would rise to 119 million in 2012 and to 369 million by 2016.
Gartner reports that the tablet market is likely to double this year and the most sold device will be the Apple iPad. The vice president at Gartner, Carolina Milanesi said that although other manufacturers were vying to grab a prominent place in the tablet market, none had been able to beat Apple’s iPad. In spite of the efforts put forth by vendors in reducing the prices and upgrading the hardware, they had been able to get only as many as 60 million units to the consumers all over the world. And even this year it had been the same when the new iPad is all set to be launched.
Judging by above reports, it seems that even though iPad has had tough competition from other tablet makers, none has managed to mount a genuine challenge to it. And why not! Apple is after all the company to have created the tablet in the first place.
