Apple’s event for the iPhone 4S was held in October last year, and as the date approaches we continue to see more rumors each day, some being more realistic than others. Today,iMore has heard from its sources that Apple is preparing an event for September 12th, and although iMore is pretty new to the rumor game, AllThingsDhas also confirmed the same time frame for an event.
iMorealso mentioned that a release would follow on the week of September 21st. A fall release is definitely possible after a SEC filling by Apple in the Spring was revealed showing a surge in supply purchases, which would indicate that they are getting production ready for the fall. Apple also tends to follow the same schedule for releases as the previous year, so a September release would be close to last year’s October 4th launch and October 14th release.
Even Jim Dalrymple at The Loop, known for his one word denial/confirmation of rumors, has posted “yep” on his blog. As always rumors are rumors, so we’ll just have to wait for an official invitation to the event before it can be confirmed. We’ll keep you updated on the matter as new info becomes available.
