Apple is reportedly set to open its very first retail store in Brooklyn next year.
As reported by the New York Post (via 9to5Mac), Apple has signed a contract to be the tenant of a retail space in Williamsburg, the so-called hipster haven in New York City’s most populous borough:
Ending years of speculation, the tech-products powerhouse has signed a long-term lease for a 20,000-square-foot store at 247 Bedford Ave. at the corner of North 3rd Street, brokerage community sources definitively revealed. It will be Apples long-awaited first Brooklyn location.
The two-story arched-windowed brick building is currently undergoing renovations. Its expected to look like the rendering shown above (via The Real Deal) upon completion of the remodeling in April 2015.
No word yet, though, on exactly when Apple plans to hold the grand opening of its store at the location.
At the moment, Apple has 17 retail stores in the state of New York.
Apple opened its newest retail store in the U.S. over the weekend, located at the Franklin Park Mall along Monroe St. in Toledo, Ohio.
