Were you thinking of buying a new iPhone for yourself? Well, if you're willing to wait it out, you might have a few more options with the release of the iPhone 5S. Barron's reports that analyst Brian White is predicting (according to vague "checks" on which he does not give further detail) that the company will soon debut a new line of iPhones--in glorious Technicolor!
This'll be just like the time you bought that red sofa you now despise. There's a reason HGTV is always harping on neutral furniture accessorized with "pops" of color.
In a letter to subscribers, Mr. White wrote:
In terms of more colors, we believe the next iPhone will draw inspiration from the iPod touch that became available in multiple colors (beyond the traditional Black and White) for the first time this past October. These colors included pink, yellow, blue, white & silver, black & slate […]
He goes on to speculate that the rollout of color options for the iPod touch was a test for how it would go with iPhones. Also predicted: a wider variety of screen sizes.
Take all this with a great big grain of salt, though, as Apple has confirmed nada. If this does happening, it's worth remembering that you could just buy black or white and splurge on a $30 case you can replace without selling a kidney. Just a thought!
