Apple is rumored to be working on a larger iPad, a device that has been dubbed the “iPad Pro” by the tech blogosphere. A new report indicates that the larger iPad could come equipped with NFC-technology that might allow for new connected accessories.
The “iPad Pro” is expected to feature a 12.9-inch display, according to Apple Insider’s sources. The report also says that while the new device may be NFC enabled, it will probably not support the same tap-to-pay facilities that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus offer. However, the NFC-support means that the “iPad Pro” could potentially serve as a payment terminal and accept NFC payments.
The report also suggests that Apple is working on blue-tooth enabled stylus for the giant iPad and that the screen will be pressure-sensitive.
In addition to accessories, the “iPad Pro” may include a USB-C port either in place of or in addition to the Lighting port it currently features.
