We all knew that the iPhone 5c was a complete failure, but Apple said that they were not done with it just yet. Just a few weeks ago we heard news that plenty of iPhone 5c’s have been catching dust in China and then we heard about Apple’s next plan—the 8 GB iPhone 5c.
Apple just seems to know its way around the market which it built for itself. One populated with outrageously priced, laptops, desktops and mobile phones. Still then it was a surprise why the “affordable” iPhone 5c was priced so high.
Back in 2008, analyst Edward Snyder said that “They’re going to have a difficult time”. This is with reference to Steve Job’ sales goal of selling 10 million iPhones in 2008. Apple ended up selling 13.7 million back then, which proved that Steve Jobs clearly knew what he was in for. Then came the challenge to build the massive app ecosystem which today has crossed the 1 million mark.
So without much fanfare the 500th million iPhone did get sold. Analysts now predict that at this pace, Apple will cover another 100 million in just a year’s time, despite not bringing in much innovation to the mobile space.
