AOL users take note. Starting on Tuesday, March 31, Apple will no longer allow log-ins to iTunes, the App Store, or the iBooks Store with those AOL credentials.
Apple has recently emailed users who will be affected by the change. According to a support documentposted on Apples site, users simply need to sign into to iTunes with a Mac or PC and then follow the on-screen instructions to convert their account into an Apple ID.
If the AOL information isnt converted by that date, Apple will be unable to provide any assistance. That also means you will lose access to the stores and any content that had been previously purchased.
The change doesnt affect any access to AOL-specific services using your AOL credentials.
Apple and AOL partnered up for the service all the way back in 2003. If youre affected by the change, we highly recommend going ahead and converting your ID as soon as possible.
