Today’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch apps for free daily include a neat weather app, block sliding puzzle game, sun tracking app, and music player app. A number of apps drop from paid to free on a daily basis*, and we pick the top four everyday, as many of the others aren’t worth your time even for free. Everyday we try to pick apps that are worth spending money on, but are now free to download, and here they are.
*Price drops are temporary, and usually last for just 24 hours, so be quick to download.
Weather Butler Animated ($0.99 -> Free, Universal): A neat weather app that focuses on the idea of a butler giving you the weather for the day. There’s a 4 hour, 12 hour, and next day forecast, as well as an hourly chart based view. The app also includes clothing suggestions based on the weather information.
Rubpix ($1.99 -> Free, Universal): A block sliding puzzle game where you’re given a 4 x 4 grid, and your goal is to arrange the blocks to form the given picture. There are 150 levels included where you try to limit your number of moves to compose the picture, one block slide at a time.
Sol: Sun Clock ($3.99 -> Free, Universal): An app designed to let you always stay on top of the sun to plan your day. There’s a sundial based interface to help you plan photos, pick the best times for the beach, or guide sleep cycles. The app includes optional reminders for sunset, sunrise, solar noon/midnight, astronomical twilight, and many more.
CarTunes ($4.99 -> Free, Universal) [Review] An app made to be used in the car so that you don’t need to look at the screen to control your music. The app is filled with gestures, so you can swipe left and right to move between tracks, tap anywhere on screen to play or pause the music, and more. The main playing screen is clutter free with the just the album art and song details since all of the controls are gesture based.
