Everyday we try to pick apps that are worth spending money on, but are now free to download, and here they are.

WriteRoom ($4.99 -> Free, Universal): A distraction free writing experience that attempts nothing more than to create a quiet place for you to write. There’s a minimalistic design to just highlight your text with different fonts & colors to choose from. There’s also Dropbox, and universal app support.
TiltShift Effect ($0.99 -> Free, iPhone): A deluxe photo effects app that focuses on tilt shift to change the perspective of your photos. The app can work with new photos, or those from the camera roll, and provides a live preview of the effect before taking a picture, or video. You can also easily adjust the blur strength, saturation, contrast, brightness and vignetting effect.
Directional Dash ($0.99 -> Free, Universal): A puzzle game where you swipe to clear blocks in all directions from one main game board. There are three different game modes with three variations each offering nine ways to play. You’re given various colored “L” shaped blocks to send into the four corners of the screen.
7 Minute Workout Pro ($1.99 -> Free, Universal): One of many seven minute workout apps, and this one is free for a limited time. It’s made for iOS 7 complete with 12 targeted exercises designed to be completed in almost any setting. Thee are voice prompts, an easy to use interface, and more.
