Back in January we meet with the folks at Archos and we discussed tablets and Ice Cream Sandwich. And well, based on what we were told at the time — the already out in the wild Archos G9 tablets would begin seeing an update to Android 4.0 early in the month of February and new units would begin shipping with Android 4.0 a bit later in the month. That being said, it looks like the later in the month time must be almost upon us because the Archos G9 101 tablet is now available for pre-order WITH Ice Cream Sandwich.
The ICS running Archos G9 101 is available by way of online retailer Dynamism and comes in a few varieties. All models will have some shared features to include Android 4.0, a 10 inch (1280 x 800) touchscreen, dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP4 processor, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slots. Additionally, the feature set includes the usual goodies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, built-in microphone, headphone jack, front facing camera and GPS.
And lastly, the individual models will break down as follows; 8GB of flash storage for $329.99, 16GB of flash storage for $349.99 and 250GB hard drive storage for $389.99. With that, the two flash storage models are expected to begin shipping in March with the hard drive based model coming in April.
