Ars got down into the details of a couple of bits of important hardware and software this week: the PlayStation 4, Android 4.4 KitKat, and the TiVo Roamio, to name a few. (You can also check out our most recent iPad mini review that went up just this morning.) The PlayStation 4 was probably the most high-profile release this week, and Kyle Orland used the brand new console for a week to bring you a thorough take on what will likely be a long-lived gaming system. You can check out all of his words on this topic at PlayStation 4 hardware review: Off to a mixed start.
Readers have been looking forward to this release for a long, long time, and they had no shortage of opinions about the console.
A few readers said they want to wait until better games come out to buy a PS4. "i think I will keep myself occupied with my PS3 Plus Subscription and wait for the slim version of both systems," wrote dracvs. "There is no genuine reason to move forward at this time. Not even one compelling game to say 'I have to play that like, now.'" Seraphiel agreed: "I can wait until they release some compelling games. I have a few others to finish in the meantime anyway."
