Does Siri know something we don’t know? Or rather, something Apple hasn’t told the world about yet?
I recently asked Apple’s voice assistant about the “iPhone Air.” Interestingly enough, she didn’t keep quiet about it.
According to Siri, the iPhone Air:
Is a touchscreen smartphone developed by Apple Inc. It is the eight (sic) generation of the iPhone, succeeding the iPhone 5s. Formally unveiled as part of a press event on October 14, 2014. It was released on October 25, 2014. The iPhone Air featured major design changes in comparison to its predecessor.
There are many holes inSiri’s pronouncement, starting (and probably ending) with the fact that it referenced aWikipedia entry from someone named “Edgar181,” who called the page a “Blatant hoax.”
Additionally, the dates listed are almost certainly wrong.Apple is likely to announce the next iPhone at its media event on Tuesday, Sept. 9, not in October.
Finally, the Wikipedia page that Siri mentionedwas deleted in April.
Hoax or not, it’s nice to hear Siri say the words “iPhone Air,” which could be the official name of the “iPhone 6.”
We’ll know soon enough. Tuesday’s event begins at 10 a.m. PDT from the Flint Center in Cupertino, California.
Meanwhile, take some time and ask Siri yourself about the iPhone Air.
