According to the latest rumour; Asus will soon launch a budget-friendly smartphone through its ZenFone line-up. The new smartphone called as ZenFone Go comes with the model number ZC500TG and this is also going to be the first smartphone from Asus to feature a MediaTek chipset.
The rumoured specifications of the device are 5-inch HD (1280×720) display with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It comes powered by the MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor along with Mali-400 MP2 GPU. It is unknown why the company skipped the 4G LTE, where almost all the recent devices ranging from the entry-level to high-end smartphones are equipped with the LTE connectivity.
It comes with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Once launched it has to face tough competition from the other brands like Lenovo, Xiaomi, Yu and few others; which are offering more than decent specs in the entry-level smartphones.
The device comes available in several pastel colours as the ZenFone Selfie. Though there is no official confirmation from Asus about the launch or price of the device, it is expected to be launched by the end of this month.
