It seems like Asus is planning to add a new model in its FonePad line as the FonePad K012 was recently spotted at TENAA (the China FCC) as well as getting benchmarked over at gfxbench. The FonePad line of devices is known for having large 7-inch display and can be called large smartphones or tablets that can make phone calls. They come with premium specs however are priced affordably.
The Asus FonePad K012 is reportedly going to cost even cheaper than the other FonePad models as it comes with lower specs. It sports a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor, PowerVR SGC 544MP2 graphics chip, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage space, and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. There’s also a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera.
There’s really nothing special about the specifications of this device which is clearly aimed at the budget market. While it is capable of running most of the Android apps available in the market it’s really suited for consumers who just want a portable device to check their emails, surf the web, update their social networks, as well as make and receive calls.
Benchmark tests on this model showed a 1080p T-Rex Offscreen result of 405 frames or 7.2 fps which is pretty low. The company however isn’t targeting the high-end market with this device so this result won’t be a problem.
OS: Android 4.3
Display: 1024 x 600, 7.4″ touchscreen with at least 5 finger gesture support

As far as pricing of the Asus FonePad K012 is concerned it was recently listed as having a price of 3,809 baht in a shop in Thailand. This converts to roughly $118 which is already a pretty decent price for this device.
Just recently it was also reported that Asus is going to launch three new tablets this year running on Android 4.4 KitKat. The still unannounced devices are the 7-inch Asus K013, 8-inch Asus K011, and the 10-inch Asus K010.
