You may have been following the release of ASUS’ Padfones and seen them appear in benchmarks, and you may have been disappointed that it seemed like they might not make it to the US. Well my friends, all that has just changed at the AT&T developers summit at CES 2014, with the announcement of the new Padfone X. In fact, it seems that for now at least, the Padfone X will only be available in the US! Hit the break to find out more and read the press release!
The 5-inch phone that docks into a 9-inch tablet has a number of better features compared to their original Padfone. These include better hardware specs, as well as a cool camera trick called PixelMaster, which uses a pixel binning-like function to produce a clearer 3-megapixel image from the 13-megapixel sensor.
The device will only be available on AT&T, and there’s no word on pricing or availability just yet, but we will surely find out more about that soon.
