The ASUS Padfone X was made official at the CES event earlier this month through AT&T. And now as we eagerly await the device’s arrival in the country, the tablet/smartphone hybrid has just received Wi-Fi certification with the model number T00D. The model number was subsequently confirmed by the GFXBench benchmarking site after the announcement was made by AT&T. While there’s still no confirmation on when the AT&T Padfone X will officially break cover, a Wi-Fi certification is usually a good indicator of an imminent launch.
Pricing should be somewhere over $300 on contract given that it comes with a tablet and a smartphone, both with a 1080p display. The smartphone sports a 5 inch display and also features a Snapdragon 800 SoC as well as Android 4.4 KitKat with ASUS’ Zen UI on top. At this point, the device is still listed as coming soon on AT&T’s website, so we’re still not sure as to when to expect the Padfone X in the market.
