AT&T iPhone users upgrading to iOS 5.1 may be happily surprised with a new 4G icon
Slapping a 4G icon onto an iPhone isn't going to suddenly give it 4G powers. But that's exactly what AT&T decided to do with the iPhone when its users upgraded to iOS 5.1. Judging by customer responses on Facebook and Twitter, AT&T has successfully confused and deceived its iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S user base.
The Vergehas aggregated a few tweets from Twitter users across the web, and the message is painfully hilarious: AT&T iPhone users genuinely believe that they now have 4G phones. These poor, deceived souls used Twitter hashtags like #winning, #movinup and #hellyeah.
Congratulations to AT&T for its brilliant marketing move, making its users think they now have a service that would've otherwise required buying a 4G LTE phone.
To you AT&T readers--shocked and disgusted, I'm sure, as you read this--we feel your pain. Feel free to let us, or your carrier, know just how you feel!
