Audiobook site Audible launched a new service today called Channels. The service offers spoken recordings of news and podcasts as both a standalone subscription and is included free with Audible’s standard subscription.
The new Channels feature is available inside the existing Audible apps and they include a mix of original programming specifically made for Audible, short programming, spoken recordings of news from a number of outlets, short story readings from a variety of authors and genres, and a handful of popular podcasts in their usual form. Existing Audible users get the Channels for free, but if you’re curious you can get a standalone subscription for $4.95/month. You can take a peek at some of the channel offerings over on Audible’s site below.
