Would you use the 6.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Mega as a phone? “No (bleeping) way,” said an astonished New Yorker when she saw the phablet. The device, a combination of a phone and a tablet, is the latest fruit of what we think is Samsung’s effort to produce a device for every possible category. We took to the streets of Manhattan and found that people feel the phablet is too big for their pockets, and looks like a device from ancient times.
Many of the people we spoke to were iPhone users, and were accustomed to that phone’s petite build. A lot of the people we spoke to also thought immediately of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2, a 5.5-inch phablet released last year. But while the Note 2 almost fits in the hand, half the Mega juts out and is almost the same length as our face.
Do phones have to fit comfortably in your pocket, or do you prefer a bigger screen for watching videos and playing games? Leave a comment and let us know what you think.
